Year 9 Enrolment Package
Introduction
Year 9 at Woree State High School is the final year of middle schooling. Students study the core subjects of English, Mathematics, Science, Study of Society and the Environment and Health and Physical Education, along with two elective subjects of their choice (Drama, Music, Art, Industrial Technology and Design, Home Economics, Business Organisation and Management, and Information Processing) for the duration of the year.
Some of the extra-curricular school-based programs currently on offer to students in year 9 are: Student Council (4 representatives), Rugby League, Rugby Union and Cheerleading, along with the opportunity to participate in many state and national academic competitions through the Science and Mathematics Departments.
Students who are able to maintain their "Good Standing" status also receive the privileges of Rewards Days and excursions throughout the year. It is expected that students of "Good Standing" maintain a minimum 80% attendance level, demonstrate punctuality and adherence to the school uniform and behaviour policies.
